Mr Williams joined CRU in 1986 and for many years ran the Aluminium Semis and Downstream areas specialising in flat rolled product markets and demand analysis. A regular speaker at major aluminium events, he also contributes to aluminium association publications including those of the Aluminum Association. Mr Williams has a MSc in Economics, London School of Economics. BA in Economics, University of Swansea.

Renato Bacchi is Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Alcoa Corp, where he leads the Company’s sales and trading, marketing, supply chain, commercial operations, procurement, and transformation and oversees the Company’s global energy assets and breakthrough technology programs. Renato is a member of the Alcoa Executive Team, which sets strategic direction for the Company. Renato joined Alcoa Inc. in 1997 in São Paulo, Brazil, in the energy group and worked in various roles from purchasing raw materials to primary metal sales, ultimately becoming assistant Treasurer. After the company split in 2016, he has served in several Alcoa Corp. executive roles including Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, and Treasurer. Renato has a degree in electrical engineering from São Paulo University, and an MBA from IbMec University (Brazil).

Khalid A. Latif is a highly accomplished executive with more than 35 years of experience in the aluminum industry. In April 2024, he was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Midal Cables B.S.C (C), bringing to the role extensive expertise in both operations and marketing, as well as a proven record of strategic leadership.
Mr. Latif began his career at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) in 1989 as an apprentice and advanced steadily through the organization. In 2012, he was named Marketing & Operations Manager, a dual role that gave him responsibility for both commercial development and operational performance. His success in this position led to his promotion as Chief Marketing Officer in 2015, where he further built his reputation as an industry leader.
He holds an MBA from the French Arabian Business School / ESSEC (Bahrain) and is recognized for his ability to integrate business insight with operational expertise. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and long-term value creation.
Today, as Group CEO of Midal Cables, Mr. Latif oversees the company’s international footprint, including plants in Bahrain, Mozambique, and Saudi Arabia, and offices in Canada and the United Kingdom, guiding its global operations with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and continuous growth.

Ghannam is a senior commercial executive with over 23 years of experience across the aluminum and mining sectors, spanning global marketing, commercial strategy, and supply chain leadership.

He currently serves as Vice President, Commercial at Maaden, where he leads the strategic direction of the company’s aluminum business globally. He is responsible for defining the commercial strategy, guiding global market positioning, and strengthening strategic customer relationships across key international markets.

Since joining Maaden in 2007, Ghannam has held multiple leadership roles across both the aluminum and phosphate businesses, contributing to the company’s evolution into a globally integrated mining and metals player. He has been closely involved in navigating market cycles, reinforcing customer partnerships, and ensuring commercial resilience in a dynamic global environment, including advancing discussions around sustainability, circularity, and the evolving role of recycled aluminum in global supply.

In 2024, he was appointed to the boards of Maaden Aluminum and Maaden Bauxite & Alumina, further expanding his strategic oversight across the value chain.

Ghannam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, along with Master’s degrees in Business Administration and International Management & Leadership, and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Financial Management. He has also completed executive programs at MIT and INSEAD, and was selected as one of the MISK 2030 Leaders.

Mr. Voss is a long-term public affairs and governmental relations expert with 20 years of experience in the Brussels and energy sector. Prior to joining the aluminium industry, Mr. Voss served as Managing Director at Euroheat & Power, the association for the European district energy sector, and as Head of Public and Industrial Affairs at energy solutions provider Danfoss District Energy.
A British-Belgian national, Paul Voss is married with three children and holds degrees in Political Science and European Public Administration from Universities in Canada, France and Belgium.

Michael Hahne serves as Vice President Commercial of Novelis Europe, overseeing all commercial activities and revenue growth in the region since June 2025. His team delivers advanced, low-carbon aluminium solutions to clients across diverse sectors, including packaging, automotive, aerospace, and construction.

Before this, Michael headed Novelis Europe’s Automotive division as its Vice President and General Manager since April 2016. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development and implementation of Novelis’ European automotive strategy, innovation, regional sales and marketing activities, and the European automotive production facilities. Creating closed-loop-recycling partnerships with our automotive customers, providing sustainable, low-carbon products and advancing circular aluminium solutions in the automotive industry has been a priority for his division.

From September 2014 to April 2016, Michael served as Vice President and General Manager, Can, Novelis Europe leading the Can business in Europe, from recycling models to producing rolled aluminium products for the Beverage and Food Can as well as extruded containers for industrial markets. He served as well as the Global Account Director for Rexam.

Prior to this, Michael was Director, Automotive Sales and Marketing in Europe, and Global Account Director for Daimler, overseeing the development and implementation of Novelis’ global automotive strategy, as well as the European automotive production facilities.

Michael started his career with Novelis in January 2008 when he joined the company as Key Account Manager. Since then, he has held roles of increasing responsibility, mostly on the automotive side of the business. Prior to Novelis, he worked for other automotive tier one system suppliers including Lear Corp., Motherson Group, LISI Automotive and AXON Cable.
Michael holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Applied Sciences Konstanz in Germany.

Prior to joining the aluminium analysis team, Zaid spent six years with CRU’s consulting division as head of aluminium consulting. Before CRU, he worked for several years at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in the UAE where he led the market research unit and held various positions within marketing and sales, corporate strategy, and finance. He previously worked in London for a number of commodity-focused firms as an analyst, including Thomson Reuters and Diapason Commodities Management, where he managed the precious and base metals research unit. He began his commodities research career in 2002 as an economist with AUPEC, an oil and gas consultancy firm. Zaid holds an MA with honours in Economic Science from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. Zaid is fluent in Arabic and French.

He served as a member of the Audit Committee of the European Investment Bank for 9 years, and he is an independent member of the Board of Directors of Patria Bank and a member of the Board of Directors of the Aspen Institute. In 2012, in acknowledgement of his contribution to the development of entrepreneurship in Romania and the important role in development of the professional services in Romania, Mister Vasile Iuga was awarded the title of Professor Honoris Causa from Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

He began his career in the UK Treasury, later moving to the Bank of England, and has provided macroeconomic modelling and analysis to policymakers in fiscal, monetary and financial policy. He has published his analysis through a number of working papers, journal articles and blog posts on topics including productivity, exchange rates and modelling credit flows. Alex has an MSc in Economics from University College London, and a BSc in Economics and Economic History from the London School of Economics.
